What We Do
We provide education and resources that help strengthen local food systems. Our work supports farmers and food producers with tools and guidance to help their operations thrive, while also helping consumers make informed choices that support healthier communities and more sustainable agriculture.
We also provide scholarships to educational events through our Larry Butler Memorial Scholarship.

Southern Sunny Acres Farm
September 12th, 2026
Gather with us on Saturday, September 12th from 3:00–6:00 PM to explore the Southern Sunny Acres Farm, meet Farmers Ty and Tokie Morgan, learn about NRCS conservation practices in action, and connect with fellow farmers and local food supporters. This tour is perfect for anyone curious about where their food comes from, farmers interested in conservation, or anyone looking to spend time outdoors on a working farm.
After the tour, stick around for a Farmer & Friends Happy Hour from 6:00–7:00 PM, sponsored by the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance.

Groundwork 2026: Central Texas
September 13th - December 11th, 2026
Want the knowledge, confidence and plan to build a financially sustainable agricultural business? Join this 12 week agricultural workforce development program to prepare beginning farmers, ranchers, interns, veterans, career changers and agricultural entrepreneurs to successfully design, evaluate, launch, and manage financially sustainable agricultural enterprises. At the completion of the course you will have a working farm business plan!
Hybrid format. Online modules, live webinars and three hands-on farm events.

DIG Summit 2026: CULTIVATING LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS

This community-hosted North Texas Resiliency Food Systems summit is back for the 4th annual Dallas Interconnected Growers’ Summit (DIGS). DIGS is a collaborative forum for producers, food system stakeholders, and backyard enthusiasts looking to improve the way our region feeds itself. The summit hosts networking sessions, expert insights, hands-on workshops, farm tours and more.
